Soul Mode System

Soul featured a unique mode system that enhanced different abilities based on the user's playstyle and meter management.

Calm & Fury Mechanics

Performing the X move increased the Calm meter, while performing the Z and C moves increased the Fury meter. The Soul counter indicated what mode the user was currently in.

Neutral Mode

When the marking on the meter was in the middle, the user would be in Neutral mode which provided no special effects.

Calm Mode

When the marking was on the Blue side of the meter, the user would be in Calm Mode, which increased the AoE of the X move.

Fury Mode

When the marking was on the Red side of the meter, the user would be in Fury Mode, which increased the damage of the C move.

Maximum Mode

When the marking was at the limit of increasing on any mode, the user's V move would get a significant boost in damage.

Buddy Visual Changes

The Sun and Cloud buddies changed appearance based on the current mode:

  • Calm Mode: The sun had a softer light, the cloud floated lightly and was white
  • Neutral Mode: The sun became brighter, the cloud darkened, with purple lightning
  • Fury Mode: The sun was brighter and looked more serious, the cloud was dark purple with lightning rods

Summon buddies strategically based on your needs: Toxic Flower for area denial, Cursed Tree for crowd control, or Candy for sustain during extended fights.

Combo Potential

Use Wrath of Ra (X) to disable Instinct in PvP, then follow up with Outraged Raijin (C) for high damage while they're vulnerable.
